EUclaim has closed. Here's what happens to your claim — and what to do next.
Updated November 2026.
What happened
EUclaim (Airline Claims B.V.), one of the best-known Dutch flight-compensation agencies, ceased operations in 2026. If you had an ongoing claim with EUclaim, the key facts:
- Your statutory right to compensation under EU261/UK261 does not disappear — it belongs to you, not the agency.
- Unless you signed a assignment (cession) agreement that transferred the claim itself, the claim was never theirs — agencies only act as representatives. Check your contract.
- If the claim was already assigned, the buyer of the portfolio (if any) may pursue it — you'd be contacted. If nothing happens, you can typically withdraw from an inactive agency mandate and claim directly.
- Deadlines: the 6-year limitation period (England & Wales) still runs from the flight date. Don't wait.
Your three options now
| Option | Cost | Effort |
|---|---|---|
| Claim directly with the airline (official forms, free) | 0% — free | You handle follow-up and escalation over months |
| ClaimPilot — automated filing, chasing and escalation | 15% of compensation (12% for members) — only if you're paid | ≈10 minutes to hand over; we do the rest |
| Other agencies (AirHelp, Flightright, etc.) | typically 25–35% + fees | Similar to ClaimPilot, higher cut |
If your disrupted flight was in the last 6 years, you're likely still owed money
Compensation is fixed by law: €250–€600 / £220–£520 per passenger for arrival delays of 3+ hours, short-notice cancellations, or denied boarding. Airlines must prove extraordinary circumstances to refuse.

Common questions from EUclaim customers
I paid EUclaim a fee already — do I pay again?
EUclaim charged nothing upfront (success fee only). Since they never obtained your payout, there's nothing to have paid for. With ClaimPilot you pay only when the airline pays you.
Can ClaimPilot take over a claim EUclaim already filed?
Often yes — if the mandate is withdrawable and the claim is still open, we can re-notify the airline under our reference and continue the chasing timeline from where it stopped. Start with the free check and we'll assess your specific case.
What if I signed an assignment contract?
Assignment (cession) means a funder owns the claim and pays you a fixed share. Portfolio buyers may still pursue it — you should be notified. If nobody contacts you within a reasonable time, seek confirmation in writing that the assignment lapsed before claiming elsewhere.
